I like the embellishment on the putty colored top. The design is in raised material. I just got this vest on eBay, but I think it's going to be a favorite. I should have taken a picture of the back and I will the next time I wear it and do a post. The back has an inset of cotton material the same as the detail on the pockets. It makes this item more unique.

Hey! I know what I can do. I grabbed this picture off of the eBay listing. I forget that there are already pictures out there of most of the clothes I buy. Voila!

OoTD - 5/12 - A High School Graduation

I went to the graduation ceremony of a home schooled girl in our community today. It was held at her dad's church (he is a pastor). I was struck by the amount of planning and effort that she and her family put into the occasion. The church was decorated with streamers and graduation signs. The ceremony itself include all of the components of a big high school graduation including a very short processional to Pomp and Circumstance, a speech by the lone graduate, a commencement speech by a former associate pastor, and the presentation of her diploma. I think the only thing I didn't see was her throwing her cap into the air.

Family and friends had come from all over and the pews in the church were almost full. Even though the girl had been home schooled, she had been involved in a lot of activities in the community including volleyball and 4-H.

The refreshments were her favorite foods including iced cupcakes in her school colors (the same as the local high school), chocolate ice cream, and nachos with a meat sauce. Yum!

It really warmed my heart to see this family take the time to make this milestone for her as memorable as possible. Kudos to the girl for doing the work to get her high school diploma and also to the parents for a great graduation!

P.S. I know this is the third outfit in a row where I am wearing my dragonfly sandals. I will try to limit your exposure to them in the future, but they just go with darn near everything!

DRAGONFLY SANDALS - The Palms - eBay: $17.99

I am madly in love with these dragonfly sandals by The Palm that I bought on eBay for $17.99. That is one of the things that I like about eBay so much is the unique items they have. I really doubt I'm going to run into anyone else around town with a pair like these. They had them in gold too, but I have a lot of metallic sandals already so I went with this light orange color. There is a lot of man made material between and around my toes and I am not planning on going on a hikes in them, but I am breaking them in and toughing up my feet. I like the fact that my top (see picture #1) has a monarch butterfly on it, so I have an insect theme going. I bet you haven't heard that on too many fashion blogs?

This is my orange and peach stretch flower ring that I have had for awhile. I get a lot of complements on it, but I always feel like when I show it to people that is should squirt water out of the middle into their faces. Probably a good thing it doesn't!

Yeah! I finally did it. I have been wanting for a long time to wear an outfit where I knew the cost of each item that made it up. The total cost of this posting excluding jewelry and sunglasses is $122.72. (And that does include the shipping.) Probably not the most economical outfit I own, but not too shabby. I didn't deliberately put this together to do that because I don't look up the prices I paid on eBay until I am creating my blog post. This also happens to be one of my favorite outfits in a while. I felt very put together like an contestant at the end of an episode of What Not to Wear.

I really like Daisy Fuentes designed tops. I don't know if she is still selling her clothes at Kohls and if she is or ever did sell her designs through other outlets. These are a new pair of velvet like pants that I bought on eBay. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to wear them this spring, but we are still having some chilly weather and the extra weight of the material felt good. I was trying not to squint and the sun wasn't all that bright, but I still wasn't able to open my eyes very wide.

It really wasn't that cold out today, but I have a sore throat so I'm wearing a scarf in hopes that it won't get worse. I'm also slamming down the Vitamin C and drinking fizzy water with Emergen-C. Have you found anything that works to keep a cold at bay?

I think I am going to be one of those older ladies that you see on a golf course wearing the brightest colors imaginable. I wasn't a preppy back in the day, but I do like this color combination of the bright apple green and pink together. (No Izod alligators were harmed in the making of this outfit.)

I love my new summer purse that I won in an auction on eBay. It is Italian leather and made by Tignanello, a brand I was not familiar with before. It is a perfect size and has great pockets inside and out. These buckles shown are actually not how you get into the outside pockets. Underneath them are magnetic closures that make it really easy to open and close. The pockets are great for my sunglasses and car keys when I'm shopping.

I don't know why I am wearing so much red standing in front of my husband's red truck. I wasn't angry this day (although I look a little pissed in this photo) and I am not a communist sympathizer. Maybe I don't feel that I did Valentines Day justice?
