Product Review - Olay Facial Hair Removal Duo

One thing that you get to look forward to as you get older is unwanted facial hair.  In order to remedy this problem, I purchased Olay's Facial Hair Removal Duo from a Walmart in Laramie, WY.  It was a bit pricey at $22.00.  I had a coupon for $3.00 off, but when I gave it to the checker she told me it had expired the day before.  Rats!

In the box, which is about the size of a hair coloring kit, is a lipstick like Skin Guarding Balm and a tube of Hair Removal Cream.  First, you put the balm on the areas of your face that need the hair removed.  For me, it was my mustache area and the lower parts of my checks along the jaw line.  Once the balm is on, you smooth it into your skin using circular motions with your fingertips.  Then you lightly apply the Hair Removal Cream.  I haven't check the ingredients, but it smells an awful lot like Nair.  It could be that this is just a toned down version of Nair for your face that costs 3x as much as a big bottle of Nair.  I left the cream on for 9 minutes and then washed it off. My face felt smooth and there was some tingling but not so uncomfortable that it bothered me.  When I was putting my makeup on in sunlight, I noticed that I still had some fine hairs on the right side of my mustache area, so I'll do that spot again tomorrow morning.

One thing about this product is that unless I become The Bearded Lady and get asked to join a circus, the tubes of balm and cream should last the rest of my natural life.  I give this a

OoTD - 2/11 - Casual Saturday

GRAY JACKET - BB Dakota - eBay: $25.50
THERMAL HENLEY TOP - Jack Steven - eBay: $7.75

JEANS - Gap Long & Lean

 5 BRACELETS - eBay from US & China: $13.13

I'm a sucker for satin trim on anything.  I like the color of this top.  It's a weird light brown/salmon/pinky.

LEATHER AND SUEDE SHOES - Skechers

I don't wear tennis shoes, but I do love Skechers and have multiple pairs for more casual wear.  This is one of my favorites.  My dog, Bear, chewed up one of the original pair and I had to wait a few months looking on eBay to find a pair of this older style in my size.

OoTD - 2/9 - Inspired by Frannie Pantz

My OoTD was inspired by an outfit posted on her fashion blog at http://franniepantz.blogspot.com/2012/02/ode-to-kick-ass-chicks-and-bday-week.html
I love how she combined a more casual blue jean jacket with gray dress pants.  I like to pop some red with gray.  Those colors go so well together.

 GRAY SWEATER/COAT - Willi Smith - eBay: $27.00
RED SCARF
GRAY PINSTRIPE SLACKS - Jones NY Sport - Ross
BLACK FAUX PATENT PURSE - XOXO - Ross
GRAY BOOTIES w/ 3" HEELS - Aerosole (Play Pleat) - their Website: $55.00

My hat is off to those ladies that shoot their outfit photos outside. It was cold with a stiff wind when I was doing these.  No way was I going to strip down and take my sweater off!  It's amazing that we don't have more snow than this for February.

Zoe wandered over to see what I was doing.  I have to be careful she and Bear don't knock my tripod over when they're playing.

BLUE JEAN BLAZER - Sonoma - Kohls
RED BUTTON DOWN BLOUSE - GH Bass from Outlets in Silverthorne

I put my hair in a pony tail and then flipped the bottom of the pony tail through the hair above the scrunchy to make this knot.  Look at the gray streaks from underneath.  Time to get out the hair coloring kit!

It's a good idea to see occasionally see ourselves from the rear. Sometimes we have no idea what's going on back there!

OoTD - 2/8 - Glad in Plaid

FLANNEL PLAID JACKET- LulaVia - eBay: $14.94
GRAY/BLACK TOP - Jones NY Sport - Ross
BLACK FLARE JEANS - Gap Outlet Silverthorne: $25.00
BLACK FLATS - Isaac Mizrahi (shown below) - Target

I like the detail on this jacket with the black stiches showing and the two big fabric covered buttons.

I've had these ballet flats for quite a while now.  When I originally bought them, there were small gold buckles on the top.  I wore them that way for some time, but got tired of that look and wanted them plainer, so I just cut the buckles right off.
